The origins of Dr. Franklin's Panchakarma date back to about 500 years, when Dr. Franklin's ancestors were already providing Ayurvedic care to the Aborigines.

The ‘’Rejuvenation Therapy’’ (Rasayana Chikitsa) Cure
Tones up the skin and rejuvenates and strengthens all the tissues, so as to achieve ideal health and longevity. Increases ‘Ojas’ (primary vitality) and improves ‘Sattva’ (mental clarity) and thereby increases the resistance of the body. Includes head and face massage with medicated oils and creams, body massage with herbal oil or powder, by hand and foot, internal remunerative medicines and medicated steam bath. Herbal baths are also used. This therapy lasts between 1:30 and 2:00 a day for 7 to 14 days and aims to revitalize the soul, mind and body, strengthen the immune system and achieve an ideal state of health and longevity

Body Purification Therapy (Shodhana Chikilsa): 2 weeks
It is a process of purifying the whole body to attain proper balance of Vatha, Pitha and Kapha on Panchakarma and Swetakarma treatment. This will also purify the gunas and doshas of mind viz. Satwa, Rajas and Thamas. The 15 days package process include body massage, Snehapanam, Nasyam, Virechanam (medicated Purgative) Sneha Vasthi, Kashaya Vasthi, Pizhichil, Gnavarakizhi, Tharpanam, Sirovasthi, Karnapoornam, Medicated steam bath.

Dr. Franklin with more than 50 years of experience in Ayurveda,Pioneer in the field of Ayurvedic Medical Tourism, started an exclusive centre for Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation in the year 1997 and named in Dr.Franklin’s Panchakarma Institute and Research Centre. It has been running as one of the few resort offering authentic Ayurveda treatments in Kerala. With qualified doctors and equally qualified therapist, the resort offers the best Ayurvedic treatments in combination of Yoga and Meditation at an affordable price.
Dr.Franklin’s Panchakarma Institute and Research Centre is located at Chowara, just 20kms (30mins by car) from Trivandrum International Airport and 22kms (45mins by car) from Trivandrum Central Railway station. The property is located on 2.20 acres of lush green area just 10 mins walk from the Chowara beach.
Under the directorship of Dr.Sony Joseph and vision of Dr.Franklin the centre is concentrating Ayurveda Treatments and has been running the same way since its inception in 1997. With more than a decade in service it has earned the name of the one of the best resort offering Authentic Ayurvedic treatments in Kerala. The Resort is also Green-leaf certified.
Dr. Sony Joseph, BAMS, Senior Consultant and Managing Director, who has nearly a decade of experience in the field of Ayurveda and is responsible for all the operations in the centre. The center also is blessed with the experience of 6 Doctors, Dr.Franklin, Dr. Soumya Franklin (daughter of Dr. Franklin), Dr. Ajith Kumar, Dr.Udayashanker and Dr.Jithin.
The experience team of doctors ensures the best personal care and effective treatments for all major ailments. The center specializes in treating Psoriasis, Rheumatic complaints, etc and life-style related diseases.
The center has 22 full equipped treatment rooms to carry out all Ayurvedic procedures.
There are at present 60 (25 male and 35 female) trained therapists and nursing staff in the center; some of them are more than 12yrs experienced.
The center also conducts courses in Massage and Basic Ayurveda courses, cooking classes.
On arrival at the Centre after check-in you will be given a time for the first consultation with the Doctor. The doctor will give a small introduction to understand the basic principle of Ayurveda and will ask you questions to ascertain your Prakruthi (Type/Constitution) and Vikruthi (Imbalance). Pulse diagnosis is done at the end. Based on the information collected the doctor will decide the plan of treatment. He will also prescribe you some medication if needed and will give you a copy of treatment plan, diet and instruction which you will have to follow throughout the stay. You may also be advised to join the daily Yoga classes (7.00am - 8.30am) it would cost around 7€ for Yoga. For additional individual classes it would cost around 15€ for Yoga, short meditation session is included in daily Yoga sessions.
Based on your treatment chart you may get you first treatment the very first day or the next day. The doctor will meet you every day for a checkup and to keep a track of your progress. On the last day you will be given a final check and will be given instruction to be followed back home and medication if needed.
The treatments plans are always decided after the initial consultation with the doctor and can change based on the condition and progress of the patients during the treatments.
This treatment includes body massage with hand and foot by medicated oil and cream. It includes internal rejuvenative medicines and medicated steam bath. This therapy is for 90 minute to 2 hours per day for 7-14 days. It is good to rejuvenate mind, body and soul, to one up skin, to strengthen all system so as to achieve ideal health and longevity.
