Chithirai Festival - Madurai : This festival Brings the enactment of the Celestial Wedding of Meenakshi with Sundareswarar. During this festival Lord Vishnu rides on his Golden Horse Chariot and arrives at the venue of his Sister Meenakshi Wedding. Tourist Festival is being organized by the Department of Tourism with the Thirumalai Naiker Mahal to showcases the Tradition and Culture of the State, during the Pongal Festival days. The Tamil Nadu Government conducts a month long Chithirai Exhibition during the Chithirai Festival is another Tourist Festival of Madurai.
